Sunshine Cruz Shares That Her Relationship With Daughters Changed After Separation To Cesar Montano

42-year-old actress Sunshine Cruz recently shared the effect of her separation with Cesar Montano on her children.

Sunshine and Cesar tied the knot on September 2000, but after 3 years, the actress filed a petition to her marriage with the actor because of an alleged affair with another woman

Last year, the QC court finally granted to annul their marriage which allows both of them to start their new lives. The two have 3 daughters, namely, Angelina, Samantha, and Francheska, who remained in the custody of their mother after their parents’ separation.

During her TV guesting in the ABS-CBN’s morning talk show “Magandang Buhay” last August 14, the 42-year-old actress opened up about her separation from ex-husband Cesar Montano.

The beautiful mom of three revealed that after their separation, her relationship with her daughters have changed a lot and they are now more open and close to her.

She went on to share that after their separation in 2013, Sunshine and her kids made a promise that there will be “no secrets” between them.

“Since 2013 nung nahiwalay ako sa ex-husband ko noon, [nagkaroon] kami ng promise sa isa’t-isa ng mga anak ko, ‘no secrets’ na kung anuman yung mga nararamdaman nila, kung sino naman ang mga crushes nila, kung sino man ang friends nila. They tell me, and vice versa.

“Sabi ko sa kanila, ‘Anak, sino ba naman ang iba pang magmamalasakit at magtuturo sa inyo ng tama, siyempre ang nanay ninyo dahil ayaw ko kayong masaktan,'” she added.

When asked by one of the hosts on how open she is when it comes to her kids, she replied.

“Basta nung nahiwalay ako, parang mas naging mas malapit pa sila sa akin. I think kasi mas na-appreciate, and I think mas napahalagahan nila yung pagiging nanay ko, nakita nila yung pagsa-sakripisyo ko sa kanila at pagmamahal ko. So I think it helped talaga,”

Sunshine also explained her role in the lovelife and heartbreaks of her children,

“Tinuturuan ko kasi ang mga anak ko ng self-worth nila. So I think pag pinaasa sila. Ibig lang sabihin that guy does not deserve my children, because they know their self worth.”

Currently, the actress is in a happy relationship with businessman boyfriend Macky Mathay, the son of former congressman Chuck Mathay and the half-brother of actress Ara Mina.
