Ruffa Gutierrez Feeling Emotional As Her Eldest Daughter Lorin Moves Abroad To Study

Ruffa Gutierrez and former husband, Turkish businessman Yilmaz Bektas eldest daughter Lorin Gutierrez – Bektas is currently in the United States to attend a three-week summer course in preparation for college.

The 15-year-old Filipina-Turkish model is planning on pursuing a degree in Economics at her dream school abroad, the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), also known as one of the top-ranked economics institutes in the world.

On Instagram, Lorin’s celebrity mom, Ruffa Gutierrez posted a throwback photo of her daughter wondering how time has flown so fast.

“This little girl I carried while I was pregnant with [Venice, Lorin’s sibling] is off on her own this summer as she expands her knowledge at one of the top-ranked economics institutes in the world,” she wrote in the post.

Lorin will be away from home for 3 weeks and is said to return in August, that’s why her mother got emotional as this is the first time she is going to be away from home this long.

The loving mother of two has nothing but good wishes for her firstborn,

“Lorin, spread your wings and embrace this new journey! I love you,” Ruffa added.

In a recent interview with Cornerstone Entertainment, the 15-year-old Filipina-Turkish beauty shared that her mother prepared her with some basic tasks since she’ll be doing this on her own during her stay in the United States.

“I’ll be staying in a dorm the whole time and will be cooking, cleaning and doing my own laundry so she made sure I was prepared for all that.”

She also shared that when her mother learned about her plan of studying college abroad and living away from home, she felt “happy and nervous” at the same time, but since she’s also very supportive, she didn’t think twice in allowing her to study in her dream University.

“She knew that this would be a great opportunity for me and didn’t hesitate to allow me. UCLA is my dream university and I hope to study there after high school, but its incredibly hard to get into for actual college so I’m making sure to keep my options open,” she said.

Lorin also clarified that when she returns in the country next month, she ‘will resume with life as it is now’.
