Other Uses of Coffee Other than Just a Drink

If something goes wrong, have a coffee. Coffee will always be everyone’s favorite. Hot or cold, black or with creamer, and any time of the day, coffee is perfect. But have you ever wondered where we could use coffee other than drinking it?







Here’s a list of great things you can do with coffee:

13. Hand Sanitizer

It’s annoying how hard garlic and onion smell stays on our hand after chopping it. Did you know that you can use the coffee ground as a solution for that? Yes! Just wash your hand and rub coffee grounds and rinse. And your hands will be smelling like coffee. Who would hate how fresh coffee smells?

12. Face Mask

Aside from the pleasant smell of coffee, it has some benefits for our skin. Coffee grounds can remove dead skin cells, provides an anti-wrinkle effect for its antioxidant content. Here’s an example of a face mask that you can try:

-Add 1 tbsp. of baking soda to coffee grounds.
-Add drops of water, mix well until you achieve the desired texture for a face mask.
-Apply on your face and leave for 20 mins.
-Rinse your face with warm water and you’ll see the result right away.

This mask also cleanses oily skin, because of the baking soda in the mixture.

11. Fridge Freshener

-Foods that are stored for a long time gives off unwanted smell. Also, fishes and meats, have a strong smell. Aside from defrosting and cleaning our fridges, we can put a bowl with coffee inside it. Like on your hands, it gets rid of the unpleasant smells.

10. Anti-Cellulite Remedy

-Did you ever wonder what the most common ingredient of all over-the-counter anti-cellulite creams? You guess it right! It’s caffeine. Instead of buying expensive brands, you can make homemade alternatives.

Mix a leftover coffee with some coconut oil. Apply the affected area, massage on circular motion and rinse with water. Easy and effective remedy.




9. Flea Repellent

You’re not the only one who can benefit from coffee, also your pets! How? Because of the strong smell of coffee, it can be used as a DIY treatment for fleas and keep those blood-sucking parasites away from your pets.

Wash your pets with leftover coffee and of course, wash them thoroughly. Fleas and parasites will be out of the picture, and your pets will smell like a good brewed coffee. But never taste them, of course.

8. Hair Treatment

Coffee isn’t all for your skin, also for your hair! Caffeine doesn’t just make your hair glossy, soft and nourished. It is also an excellent help for hair loss and hair growth.

To use coffee as a hair care product, try to follow these steps:
-Brew some coffee, enough to cover all your hair.
-Let it cool and apply it on your hair, massage in circular motion.
-Let it sit for 20 minutes and wash thoroughly after.

You can do this once a week.

7. Garden

Coffee for our gardens? Seriously?!
Yes, you’ve read it right. Coffee can enrich and nourish garden soil with nitrogen. It can be used as compost but make sure that the amount of coffee doesn’t exceed 20% of the mixture to have a good result.

6. Cat Repellent

Have you ever been visited by a stray cat? It’s a cute thing but when they pee on your backyards isn’t good.

Coffee is a cruelty-free option to make them away. Cats can’t take the strong smell of coffee and makes them turn away.

Just leave coffee grounds with some citrus peels on where they usually visit.

Coffee is a great natural exfoliator and helps to remove dead skin cells.

You can prepare your DIY exfoliating mixture by adding ground coffee with olive oil. Use the scrub on the parts of you want to exfoliate. Rinse with water after leaving it for 15 minutes.

4. Air Freshener

Not a fan of scented air fresheners that smells like chemicals? Maybe coffee scented air freshener is a better idea.

Pour an amount of dry ground coffee on your unused nylon stockings. Hang it inside the rooms where you prefer. It works well on our refrigerator, and of course on your houses too.

Want to clean your wood furniture clean and shiny? Try doing it with coffee!

Instead of throwing your leftover coffees, let them cool down. Soak a piece of fabric and clean the wood furniture. This will not only clean it, but the coffee will also make it shiny and leaves a coffee scent that we all like.

Everything is an art, so as the coffee beans! You can place the coffee beans on clear jars and bowls. Place them anywhere in the house you want. It’s not just a beautiful decoration but will also make the room fresher with coffee scent.
