Netizen Called the Attention of ABS-CBN and GMA Network to Return Cartoons and Anime TV Programs
If you are one of the so-called “Batang ’90s,’ then watching cartoons was probably one of the things you’ve always looked forward to after a long day in school. Those are the days when the only pressure we needed to overcome was to be able to get home early so we wouldn’t miss an episode of our favorite cartoons or anime programs. Hence, it’s no surprise that many of us secretly wished that they would make a comeback on today’s TV.
Recently, a concerned netizen named Charine R. Estorpe posted on the Facebook page “Memories of Old Manila” to call the attention of ABS-CBN and GMA Network. She wished that these big networks would return cartoons and other informative shows, that will bring fun and moral lessons to young people.
Charine wanted her children to experience what she had during her young age.
Based on her observations, most tv programs today have a theme that is not suitable for younger audiences such as teleseryes or adult-oriented shows which are not specifically created for children. She even suggested that programs that were tagged as “Rated SPG” or “Strong Parental Guidance,” should be aired at 9:00 pm, so that children will not be able to watch these shows.
The concerned netizen also posted some throwback photos of the cartoons and animated shows released on Kapamilya and Kapuso Network.
Here are some of the most remarkable cartoons on ABS-CBN:
