While most people prefer to save money by opening an account in a bank to have it secured, some still keep their money the old fashioned way by placing it in a piggy bank, a vault, under the mattress or in any part of the house where you can hide some money.
There are even a number of individuals who sometimes try to hide money from their partners or significant others, especially the married ones as it’s also a way for them to secure financial cushion for themselves or rather for the whole family.
Just like what happened recently in Guangxi, China, when a father hides his stash in a beautiful big vase in their living room. His secret was revealed when his daughter accidentally broke the vase which he had been using as a piggy bank.
In an interview with China Press, the wife shared how the amusing incident happened one morning, while she was still in the bedroom having just woken up.
“I was sitting in my bed and suddenly, I heard a loud sound coming from the living room. I quickly jumped out of bed and ran outside. Then I saw the broken vase with a lot of money in it.
“I texted my husband and asked him to come back. His facial expression changed when he stepped into the house,” she said.
After seeing what’s inside the broken vase, she immediately informed her husband about it. She even spent the whole morning counting the money, which amount totaled to around 5,000 Yuan ($734).
It was later revealed that her husband had been saving this money in that vase since 2016 when they bought the house.
“I saved this money from eating bihun. I don’t know what to feel now,” the father shared.
Considering that her husband keeps the money stash as a secret for several years, the wife didn’t get mad at all, and she even found it hilarious.
“After more than ten years, he only saved a few thousand Yuan, that’s so funny!”
