Last year, Catriona Gray joined the global contest, Miss World, where she landed at the top 5. Currently, she is our candidate for the Miss Universe Philippines 2018 and Catriona was aiming to be the fourth Filipina to bring home the crown for the Miss Universe 2018.

This year’s competition becomes even tougher, in fact, a number of contestants have already stood out among the rest during the preliminary rounds. And of course, that includes our bet, Catriona Gray.
Filipinos all over the world is in full support for our Catriona. That’s why according to an article by PEP.ph, they wrote that during the preliminary competition that happened at IMPACT Arena in Bangkok, last December 13, Catriona Gray was among those that got the loudest cheer from the crowd.
The 94 contestants of Miss Universe 2018 wear gowns made by the renowned American fashion designer, Sherri Hill, for the opening of the preliminary competition. Catriona was wearing a sheer black with metallic embellishments dress.
During the swimsuit competition, the contestants wore swimsuits designed by one of Thailand’s beloved princess, Sirivannavari Nariratana.
Catriona Gray was in a hot pink one-piece swimsuit that had cutouts as she “slayed” the stage with that twirling in slow motion walk, which she calls the Lava Walk.
Our very own Miss Philippines decided to wear a custom-made gown by Mak Tumang, who is also a renowned fashion designer in the Philippines, for the evening gown competition. Mak Tumang also designed Kylie Padilla’s bridal gown that she has recently used for her wedding. An Instagram account named Misses Philippines posted a photo of sketches of four dresses that the designer allegedly made for Catriona Gray.
Based on the photo caption, Mak made seven dresses for Catriona, but she only picked three to bring to Thailand and the other four were the sketches of the dresses that was posted on social media.

The page regularly posts updates regarding the Miss Universe competition and based on one of their posts, the Philippines placed first with a score of 9.875 followed by Puerto Rico who scored 9.826.
