Bright Dog Learns to Buy Treats with Leaves as Money by Just Observing Students

It is a known fact that dogs can be very smart at times. Most of them can be taught to follow commands and remember those things even after a long time. More often than not, dogs learn the most by observing humans.

Just recently, a dog from Colombia has proven how clever he can be after learning to buy treats for himself and paying the cashier with leaves as money. It’s certainly funny and impressive all at once and people can’t get enough of his cuteness.

Reportedly, the adorable incident took place at the Diversified Technical Education Institute of Monterrey Casanare. The black pooch was adopted by staff members and roams around the schoolyard since then.

He is often given treats, mostly cookies, by students. But much to everyone’s surprise, the dog learned to buy treats for himself one day by merely observing the students. Since he didn’t have cash, he used leaves instead.

“One day, spontaneously, he appeared with a leaf in his mouth, wagging his tail and letting it be known that he wanted a cookie,” Angela Garcia Bernal, one of the teachers said. “When you first see it, you almost want to cry. He’s found a way to make himself understood. He’s very intelligent,” she added.

One of the store attendants, Gladys Barreto, could also not contain her awe and amazement for the dog’s intelligence. So she happily began selling him a cookie which eventually became a daily routine for them.

“He comes for cookies every day. He always pays with a leaf. It is his daily purchase,” she said.

Thanks to his bright act, the pup has become some sort of a celebrity in their area. Many were even touched and shared his everyday routine on social media where he garnered even more fans, with big sites featuring his ever adorable story.
